Image findings
  In the stenotic area, cancer invades to the adventitia(blue line) and extends to a wide area of the mucosal layer(red line). There is no ulceration in the mucosa, and grossly the cancer is regarded as Type 4.
     The entire resected esophageal mucosa is covered with glandular epithelium. Based on the distribution of esophageal glands/ducts that are histologically confirmed, the EGJ is located at the site indicated in the figure (dotted line); cardiac gland-type mucosa(sky blue line) is present on the anal side of BE and intestinal metaplastic mucosa(green line) on the oral side.
